JOYCE COLEMAN: INNOVATING TO MAKE BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITIES BETTER; HELPING OTHERS TO REALIZE THEIR POTENTIAL
Joyce Coleman is a speaker, author, community activist, and management consultant in the areas of customer-focused enterprise and peak performance for organizations and individuals.

Joyce has decades of experience at the helm of international customer services and operations groups. She became the nation's first black female officer and executive at a major worldwide airline, where she headed the consumer affairs division, developing innovative frontline empowerment programs that dramatically improved the airline's customer service profile to the extent that the airline earned a major service excellence award. She later oversaw a department of over 6,000 people, and re-engineered the in-flight services division, using a "best practices" systems model to reduce unit costs and improve customer service.
Joyce is the author of a critically acclaimed memoir, Soul Stirrings: How looking back gives each of us the freedom to move forward, a companion Study Guide for grades 4-12, and an E-book, Write, Publish, Prosper from What You Know. She authored several business-oriented writings that were published widely on the Internet. Titles include Confessions of a Reluctant Saleswoman, A Case for Service Excellence, A Holiday Gift: the Gift of Family History and Wisdom, and Seven Secrets on How to Ace the Corporate Game. She co-wrote the book, An Introduction to Collaboration, Teamwork, and NETWORKING: A Case for Working together Systematically to Achieve Successful Living and lead a team that developed the book and related concepts, This is Your Captain Speaking.

Joyce has developed and taught leadership and customer service excellence to numerous organizations, including community colleges in California and other educational institutions throughout the U.S. She has helped individuals and organizations to identify and embrace their potential.

Among her many credits, Joyce has been named to New York City’s YWCA Academy of Women Achievers,
and was an early recipient of Kansas City’s Career Focus Magazine’s Eagle Award.

Joyce is a voracious collaboration practitioner. It enables her to participate in a broad spectrum of activities, such as working with companies to optimize their business processes; worked with youth to develop young entrepreneurs; produced numerous events; and developed human capabilities among people in urban communities. Her real passion is facilitating self-discovery that enables people to leverage their knowledge and skills to achieve their dream. She has collaborated with numerous start-up enterprises that include a commercial airline start up, international marketing firm, and Execurage Global Enterprises. She has supported a range of expansion efforts with companies such as We Care Worldwide, Inc., Power of Nature; and Full Spectrum Omega. She developed and sustained educational support tools, such as STEM Digital Village for an Historical Black University. For years she operated her own non-profit organization, Positive Images Community Outreach.

Joyce is married, and divides her time between St. Louis and Oklahoma.
